News from the Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition

POST CREEK — A free video series titled “Stories From a Nation Within,” narrated by Tribal Attorney Dan Decker, will be shown at Mission Valley United Methodist Church, located at the top of Post Creek Hill, 70715 Hwy 93. The series serves as a learning experience for those seeking knowledge on Native American issues. A knowledgeable facilitator will be available for discussion following each film. 

Each event is held on a Wednesday, and begins with a potluck at 6 p.m., followed by the video. 

• Aug. 28 — Allotment and Homesteading

• Sept. 18 — Tribal Sovereignty

• Oct. 2 — Contemporary Tribal Government

• Oct. 30 — “Iron Jawed Angels” – A Hollywood-made movie depicting how female activists worked to grant women the right to vote (some scenes may not be appropriate for children or teens).
