Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, Aug. 29:
Jesus Lopez III, 22, Spokane, Wash., in a change of plea admitted committing accountability (burglary), a felony. The court found Lopez guilty. He was released from custody to report to probation office and received credit for 14 days served. Sentencing is set for Thursday, Oct. 17.
According to court documents, charges stem from an October 2012 incident where Lopez, a former employee of a business in Ronan, drove the vehicle and provided clothing for an employee who had stolen more than $700 from the same business. The employee had rigged the door and reentered the building after closing hours, stole money from the cash box, safe and cash register drawer, and then hopped in the vehicle Lopez was driving. Lopez counted the money in the back seat and the two divided up the money.
Jared Ondaro, 41, Bigfork, pleaded not guilty to burglary and criminal mischief, both felonies.
An omnibus hearing is set for Thursday, Oct. 3 and a jury trial for Monday, Nov. 12.
According to court documents, charges stem from an Aug. 9 incident where a Ferndale resident called to say a neighbor was trying to punch out his windows. A second call from a woman said the man, Ondaro, had broken out the window and entered the home.
Deputies on arrival found a living room window broken and overturned and broken furniture. There was also blood on the floor, walls and couch. Ondaro walked out of the woods, was belligerent towards officers, and said someone had killed his dog. When the owner returned to the residence, he told officers Ondaro had confronted him about a dispute with a neighbor, and Ondaro had threatened to kill him. Damage to the house was estimated to be more than $1,000.
