I would like to respond to Carol Cummings’ recent letter in the Valley Journal, in reference to President Obama’s character. I would like to know how she thinks his character compares to George W. Bush’s.
Obama was one of our few legislators who had the intelligence, the courage and the character to vote against the illicit and disasterous Iraq war. The United Nations inspectors on the ground in Iraq had told us repeatedly that Saddam did not have weapons of mass destruction.
Bush and Cheney’s ill-advised misadventure has now made it difficult for President Obama to gain support for a surgical strike against Syria for using poison gas on their own men, women and children.
