ST. IGNATIUS – The Lady Bulldogs broke the Loyola Heart Breakers after Mission exploded offensively late in the game during the Western B-C match up. Mission-Arlee-Charlo had a slow start but finished strong as they topped Loyola at 7-1 on.
Pitcher Kyla Olson won in the circle after only allowing four hits and two walks while striking out to improve to 6-2 on the season.
Mission’s Janeal McDonald had an impressive showing as she drove in three runs and finished the game with two hits. Her first single in the fifth inning drove in two runs, and she brought in another run with a single in the sixth.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Bulldogs’ offense took off as the team began hitting the ball off of Loyola pitcher Laura Snook with ease.
The Breakers were able to put up one run during the top of the sixth, but an additional three runs for Mission in the bottom of the sixth were icing on the cake as the team continues to play well up to this point in the season.
Kinley Pope finished the game with a pair of RBI and hits while McDonald also connected with the ball twice in the win. Sara Nerby, Loren Erickson, Mahalia Hendren and Olson all finished with one hit each.
Kari Tirrell had two of the Loyola's four hits, as she went 2-4, while Caelin Miltko went 1-3 and Laura Snook went 1-3 as well.
