Editor,

A few winters ago while recovering from my knee surgery a heavy snow fell during the night. Dreading to peer at my driveway that morning, I raised the window shade to see it cleared of several inches of snow and Bob Fulton walking away with a shovel over his shoulder. The snow was somewhat unusual for early winter. Bob’s deed however, was not unusual. He unassumingly shows up in the neighborhood when needs arise. Noxious weed eradication, road and driveway repairs, grass cutting, and checking on the well being of others are only a few his contributions. Of all the deeds listed probably none are specific requirements for holding the mayoral office for the city of Polson. They do however reflect the character and compassion of candidate Bob Fulton.

A major task of the mayor and council members is that of dealing with the city infrastructure. As a registered professional civil engineer and Polson’s city engineer for 24 years Bob has a vast knowledge of planning, maintenance and expansion of the various city systems. His service on the City-County Planning Board has provided him with an understanding of the many aspects of city growth. He has always supported development that is consistent with the Polson Development Code.

During his years in Polson Bob has owned and operated an engineering consulting firm. He understands that a viable business community is only possible when city government is working in alliance.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the early 1970s. In addition to patriotism, military service generally has a direct correlation to character enhancement, as well as skills in leadership, delegation and coordination of duties. This background would seem to be a desirable asset when working with others in city government and citizens outside.

Please cast your vote in the upcoming election and consider Bob Fulton for the office of Polson City mayor.
