Editor,

There comes a time in a city’s history when open government transitions from being a luxury item to a necessity. For the City of Polson, that time is now. A person who will help foster such an atmosphere of openness within our city government is Murat Kalinyaprak, a candidate who is running for Polson City Commissioner in Ward 2. Murat has not only lived in Polson for over 21 years, he has also become a successful businessman whose integrity has never been compromised. In addition, he has become an integral part of our city government without ever having been elected to public office. In fact, he has been the model for how one person can single-handedly raise the standards of our elected officials to a higher level than even they wished to be elevated to. Murat has also saved the taxpayers of Polson more money than all of the people in our local government combined. To say that Murat Kalinyaprak is a person who will “support responsible government” is a gross understatement. As active as Murat has been in local government as a private citizen, he has been restricted to the sidelines by his never having been elected to public office. With the coming election, there now exists an opportunity to place him in a position where Polson would benefit even more by his efforts to make responsible government a reality. The people of Polson should seriously consider voting for Murat Kalinyaprak for City Councilman in Ward 2.
