Editor,
The numbers are in and, thanks in large part to our dedicated group of raffle-ticket sellers, the total donations collected for the Chief Cliff VFD at Dayton Daze were $4,761. Russ Rodde of St. Ignatius won the grand prize of a $300 gas card, and Gale Decker of Ronan won a $200 gas card. Additional prizes valued from $10 to $200 were also awarded.
Sales of T-shirts, Chief Cliff Country books, and a generous donation from the Idle Spur all contributed to making Dayton Daze the successful fundraiser that it was. Thanks again to all in the community who contributed time and effort toward the many events sponsored during this years Dayton Daze and Dayton Centennial celebration, including the Dayton School centennial display, Dayton Yacht Club free sailboat rides, Dayton Church bazaar and luncheon, Mission Mountain Winery wine tasting, the meal ticket sellers, servers and pig roasters at the Idle Spur, and the many raffle ticket sellers, parade organizers and participants, and other community members who continue to support our fire department.
It takes a village to put together an event like this, and ours is the best.
