Editor,

As I read, see, and hear all the ranting, raving, discussing, arguing, justifying, backtracking, belligerence, back-biting, and blaming going on within our sacred halls of Congress and even into the White House, it occurs to me that this, right now, is one of the best things that can happen within our great nation.

Why? Because it has obviously sparked a strong verbal revolt from “We The People” as to how the majority actually value reason, truth, thoughtful dialogue, proper leadership, and honorable political behavior over the nasty rhetoric and dangerous bowing to elements of greed, fear, anger, and obsessive radical extremism.

We constantly see and talk about extreme religious and political beliefs in the Middle East as fostering terrorism. In those cultures it often develops into a form with physical violence, suicide bombings, and all manner of destruction. But non-physical forms of extreme and radical beliefs within our own country can develop into a different sort of terrorism, but with equally disturbing effects.

Our great nation is at a critical time in our history now. How we deal with this will determine how this great nation “can long endure” as a world leader.

These, of course, are just my opinions. But I feel strongly that each of us needs to speak out for what we believe to be true and helpful to our future lives and future generations.
