Editor,
What a great opportunity we’ve had in our Polson community thanks to a unique program — the Polson Heart & Soul project. In 19 of our neighborhoods and informally at many of our community event venues, Heart and Soul has asked us what we love about Polson and our hopes for Polson’s future. They listened and recorded every one of our answers.
The data is compiled and about eight themes emerged. Now we all have a chance to reflect on this amazing collection of information and to help create the core values we cherish. This set of community values will be the basis for our community’s priorities and goals.
I urge you to attend the Polson Heart & Soul Community Values Summit on Oct. 28 at Cherry Valley Elementary School lunchroom from 6-8 p.m. Dinner will be served. Please RSVP at polsonheartsoul@montanasky.net or (406) 270-8258. This interactive workshop will be facilitated by many of our community leaders where once again we can speak and they will listen.
Following the confirmation and determination of a final set of values in early 2014, the final step is a recommendations and action-planning phase. Recommendations will provide community volunteers, nonprofit organizations, civic groups, and local government with a clear idea of how to align their projects and collaborate on community priorities.
