Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Wednesday, Nov. 6:
Christy Lyne Urban, 27, Polson, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 9 a.m. with a jury trial set for Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a Jan. 5 incident where Urban was stopped while driving; she gave the officer consent to search the vehicle and he found a pipe suspected to be used with methamphetamine wrapped in a towel behind the driver’s seat.
Joseph Assiboine, 56, Arlee, was found guilty of possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. Sentencing is set for Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a Jan. 15 incident where a Tribal police officer stopped Assiboine along Highway 93. The officer noted Assiboine’s pupils were constricted, his speech rapid and he continually moved his jaw, Assiboine consented to have his vehicle searched, and the officer found a plastic bottle indicating it contained methadone. Assiboine said he bought the pills from a friend in Missoula.
Randall Stevens, 19, Ronan, admitted breaking conditions of probation and parole y using opiates and alcohol, and had his deferred sentence for burglary, a felony, revoked. Stevens was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for five years.
Judge James A. Manley dealt with the following cases Wednesday, Nov. 6:
Jay Michael Clark, 65, unknown, in a change of plea, pleaded guilty and admitted committing the offense of operation of noncommercial vehicle by person with alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony. The court found Clark guilty. Sentencing is set for Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from an October 2012 incident where Clark was pulled over by a Montana State Trooper. Although Clark attempted to cite the alphabet, he refused all other sobriety and breath tests. A warrant was made for a blood draw, which was sent to the crime lab. Clark’s driving record showed three prior DUI convictions.
Virginia Green, 28, Pablo, in a change of plea, pleaded guilty and admitted committing the offense of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. The court found Green guilty.
Sentencing is set for Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 1:30 p.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a Jan. 7 incident where a Tribal detention officer at the tribal jail was searching Green when a white pill fell out of Green’s bra. Green said it was methadone, and that her mother had given it to her and she forgot it was in her bra. Both Green and the pill were turned over to a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy.
Ronald Quaring, 49, Ronan, based on a plea agreement, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 13 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense. He was also sentenced to three years in DOC, all suspended, to run consecutive to the 13-month commitment, and credited for time served.
According to court documents, charges stem from a May 3 incident where Quaring was stopped along the frontage road in Pablo for running a stop sign while driving a motorcycle, and had difficulty turning a corner. He exhibited signs of intoxication, and his driving record showed at least four prior DUI convictions.
