Editor,

If you or I lie to a federal official, it is a felony and we could go to prison.

So, whatever happened to Rafid Ahmed Alwah al-Janabi, aka “Curveball” to the CIA? You remember him as the Iraqi informant who lied to our government officials at the highest level about Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, possessing weapons of mass destruction. Recently, Mr. Curveball has brashly admitted to his lying and that he is proud of his duplicity.

Heavily relying on Mr. Curveball’s lies, we went to war against Iraq, resulting in death or wounding of thousands of our soldiers along with untold numbers of Iraqi innocents, including women and children. Years later, we remain an occupying force in a broken country.

To my knowledge, Mr. Curveball has never appeared in a court of law to answer for his horrific crimes. Why not?
