PABLO — The Oleta Smith Endowment Fund is now open for grant applications. The fund is endowed by the late Oleta “Pete” Smith, a longtime human rights activist and environmental advocate. The purpose of the Oleta “Pete” Smith Endowment Fund is to support educational and other activities promoting cooperation and civic engagement as they influence social harmony and the well-being of families in the area of the Flathead Indian Reservation. The educational and other activities of the Fund are intended to support conferences, workshops, dispute resolution and other activities including volunteer work, social gatherings and should be open with no charge to all residents of the area served. Projects with intergenerational dimensions are to be especially encouraged.
Proposals should address activities that promote positive relations among people and focus on the Flathead Indian Reservation area.
Grant applications should not exceed $3,000.
