Editor,
As a volunteer communication officer for the Mission Valley Speedway and other projects headed by Tracy Burland, for over a decade I have kept silent over unresolved, unfair accusations against Mr. Burland.
This changes right now.
What is being said by “certain people” regarding this hard-working soul on the Reservation is not true.
There are documents held in safe-keeping that will prove without a doubt that Mr. Burland’s only local offense is a series of promotional events including the Mission Valley Speedway in Pablo and S/K Marina in Polson, trying in the process to bring shared prosperity into the region, but fighting obstacles all the way; and gosh asking embarrassing questions on behalf of the people at Tribal Council meetings.
Small wonder Tracy is considered a threat, challenging the status quo regarding the prosperity of the tribes. Mr. Burland is being unfairly judged.
Read the Bible to recall the words of Jesus who solved a community problem of hypocrisy by asserting: “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone.”
Burland is innocent of any misconduct regarding the Mission Valley Speedway; and clearly developed S/K Marina into a viable working business.
I understand Tracy Burland has one more meeting before the election, and that will be at the Ronan Indian Senior Citizens Center Friday, Dec. 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
He’s asking his critics to show up and prove what they say —publicly before witnesses — inviting the voter to be judge and jury.
Lies are tricks that deny reality, a trap, a distortion based on self-deception and petty motives. The people deserve more.
I extend best wishes to all who live in the community. Good luck wherever the road turns.
