Editor,
It’s no secret the care-giving people of the greater Polson community have a big heart and compassion for the needy.
In September the Polson Loaves and Fish Pantry announced that it was challenged to raise $15,500 to match funds donated from businesses and organizations such as Walmart, Town Pump, Treasure State Concrete, Les Schwab Tires and the Polson Rotary Club.
Needless to say, the people of the community stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun. On Dec. 1 the Food Pantry exceeded its goal in matching the funds donated by the businesses and organizations.
As you are all aware, the amount of food stamps allotted to families will be reduced by the U.S. Government at the end of this year. Therefore, more than ever, the Polson Loaves and Fish Food Pantry will need to provide more assistance to the needy within the greater Polson community. The funds will be used to help us to feed the needy and continue to operate the Polson Loaves and Fish Pantry.
We (volunteers) at the Polson Loaves and Fish Pantry want to thank all you for your generous contributions in helping us reach our goal.
Merry Christmas.
Merle J. Parise
