Art festival slated for Saturday

POLSON — The shady lawn at the Lake County Court House will be dotted with vendor booths offering everything from gourmet mustards to handmade furniture, barn wood signs, quilts and pottery on Saturday, Aug. 7.
The Sandpiper Gallery’s one-day art festival will begin at 10 a.m. and go until 5 p.m. Since the show is held in conjunction with Cruisen By the Bay car show, visitors can wander over from Main Street and side streets and peruse the art or sample the food.
Margie Hendricks, Art Festival Chair, said about 85 vendors will bring their art to the festival. There will also be entertainment most of the day, Hendricks added.
The entertainers include:
10 a.m. Opening with the Great Scots Pipes and Drums
• 10:30 a.m. Karla Martinson – gospel, folk and original music, vocals and guitar
• 11:15 a.m. Ladies of the Lake Oriental Dancers
• Noon Glenn Gardner – vocals and guitar
• 12:45 p.m. Kathy Quist and Libby Smith, Flathead Flute Trio Minus 1
• 1:30 p.m. Dan Dubuque, One Man Soul Band, guitar and charango
• 2:15 p.m. John Davis, Lonely Johnny D, vocals, guitar, harmonica
• 3 p.m. Nick Palmieri, guitar, mandolin
While enjoying the music, art lovers can visit food booths. The Episcopal Church will serve up steak and pork sandwiches, the Lions Club will offer taco salads and the Presbyterian Church will focus on coffee and bakery items for the breakfast crowd.
Navajo tacos will also be available as well as other food and drink.
