MINNEAPOLIS — Scott and Jodie Buxbaum of Ronan learned about the opportunities and challenges facing cooperatives, agriculture and rural America as participants in the recent CHS New Leaders Forum sponsored by CHS, Inc. They joined Stevensville residents Lance and Shelley Brown, Stevensville and were among 170 young producers from across the U.S. participating in the early December program at the CHS New Leaders Forum, held in Minneapolis, Minn., in conjunction with the CHS Annual Meeting.
All participants were nominated by their local cooperative or a producer organization.
During the three-day forum, participants heard from leading experts on agriculture, sustainability and cooperatives.
The New Leaders Forum also featured a networking event with the CHS Board of Directors, management and staff, as well as participation in the 2013 CHS Annual Meeting, including the annual meeting business session.
