News from the Lake County Pachyderm Club

POLSON — Jim Simpson, chairman of the Lake County Conservation District, will be the featured speaker at the Friday, Feb. 14 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club.

He will discuss and describe a major conservation initiative the LCCD has been studying and how the LCCD will go about asking for public comment regarding the initiative.

Simpson and his wife Joanne moved to Polson in 1999 after his retirement as a forester from Champion International Corporation. Simpson joined the Lake County Conservation District in 2005 when he was appointed by the City of Polson as a supervisor. In addition to serving as Chairman of the LCCD, he also serves on the Board of Directors of the Montana Association of Conservation Districts.

Pachyderms meet at the Polson Rural Fire Department building on Regatta Road. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m., with the business meeting starting at noon and adjourning at 1 p.m. Anyone interested in learning about issues important to the community are invited to attend.
