Editor,
Don’t let the latest deep freeze hitting the nation deter your belief in global warming. The Lower 48 accounts for only less that 1.5 percent of the earth’s surface. Your belief in global warming/climate change will be better determined by a careful examination of the data given by Al Gore and the climate scientists.
The indicators given by Al Gore in the movie “An Inconvenient Truth,” such as Lake Chad, Mount Kilimanjaro, drunken trees, glacial rivers, glacial decline, ocean rise and ocean warming, will all take on a different light with careful study of the climate scientists’ data itself, and a good old-fashioned look in an encyclopedia and a scientific encyclopedia.
Do you like ethanol? Nobody does. How about the nightmare of electronic sensors and software required to make your car run and put out varying degrees of carbon dioxide, with ever-restrictive controls coming out of Congress each year? How about a diesel that quits running if it doesn’t have enough pig urine in its DEF tank?
Congress did not study the Al Gore/climate scientist data before it started enacting laws that put your personal economy in jeopardy, and the economy of the whole nation in jeopardy.
If you look up only one thing, let it be “land tide.” It can be found in an up-to-date scientific encyclopedia and websites devoted to the “Large Hadron Collider” in Switzerland. My interpretation of this data is that this is where we get our main heat from. The heat we get from the sun is pitiful, compared to the heat we get from the earth.
An analogy of this would be rocket engines putting a load into orbit. The main engine is the land tide, which lifts the load away from the gravitational pull of the earth. The booster rocket is the sun, which gives the satellite its minor positioning changes, to put it in the correct position that the scientists want.
