Editor,
The People’s Voice, Inc. wishes to commend Shelley Fyant, Arlee District Representative to the tribal council for holding such a well-received district meeting last Sunday, Feb. 16. It was especially considerate to receive an agenda, and to follow it quite stringently. People realized what subjects were coming up for discussion and could prepare, in their minds, questions to consider. This is your chance, tribal membership, to keep close contact with your representative and to let her know your special concerns or dislikes. Since the tribal membership votes for candidates in all districts, every district meeting should be important to all tribal members. Just because you live in Arlee doesn’t mean that only people from Arlee should attend. Shelley has to keep up with what is happening in all districts in order to respond to questions that may arise.
Another nice thing about the meeting was that there was open discussion at the end. This is enlightening both to Shelley and to the tribal members. Also, the food served was delicious, and we appreciate having had the opportunity to partake in such a well-organized meeting with food that was so good. Thank you, Shelley, for doing an excellent job, and for all of your presenters who made the meeting more interesting. I hope that other council members will follow your excellent lead. Ya done good, kid.
