Editor,
Lake County Parks Board is holding three open forums this week to gain input into a county-wide parks and trails plan. Meetings were held Monday, March 3 at the Tribal Community Center in Arlee and Tuesday, March 4 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork (8559 Hwy 35).
Tonight, Wednesday, March 5, at 6 p.m., the third meeting will be held at the Polson Rural Fire Station on Regatta Road near the Polson fairgrounds.
The Parks Board has announced that their draft plan can be found online at http://www.lakemt.gov/planning/parks.html. You can also view a paper copy of the plan at the Ronan and Polson libraries, the Lake County Commissioners’ office, and the Lake County Planning Department in the Lake County Courthouse in Polson.
On behalf of the Polson Heart & Soul Community Advisory Team, I would like to remind all residents of Lake County that each of us has the opportunity to have our voice heard on a topic that our team understands is important to many of you — because parks, trails and recreation are things that so many talked with us about during our Heart & Soul “What do you love and what do you wish for?” interviews. By attending this meeting or reviewing the plan draft and letting your County Commissioners know what you think, you can have a direct impact on the Lake County Parks and Trails Plan outcome. The Parks Board is actively seeking public comment; let’s all speak up.
