Editor,

Mr. Bob McClellan certainly has a novel approach to elicit responses from those of us who belong to the conservative side of the political spectrum. Mr. McClellan seems to always want to blame Congress instead of the administration or the Senate (Harry Reid) for the apparent disunity that exists in our nation’s capital.

Talk about disunity. Look at what has happened and continues to happen by their actions since 2008: the continued push to supplant Christianity in the country with government; the push to take over our health system replacing doctors and nurses with bureaucrats; making it more and more difficult for small business to operate with oppressive and needless regulations; attempting to stifle dissent of their tactics by using other government entities such as the IRS to silence their critics; and working to eliminate or reduce drastically any remnants of a “middle class,” the backbone of this country for the past 60-70 years and which most of us are a part, to leave only the rich and the poor. At that point their argument for the redistribution of wealth takes on a much different meaning. I do not think, Mr. McClellan, that you want that to happen. But it very well could if those of us who are conservatives do not fight back.

This brings me to the point of many of your epistles that have appeared in the Journal and other publications: “why do you continue to blame congress for all of the disunity?” You have even mentioned individuals such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Lt. Col. Allen West. These folks are stalwart conservatives as many in Congress are. If we are silenced, who’s left to defend the Constitution, our Christian beliefs and free enterprise? It is up to us because we certainly are not getting any help from the major TV networks or the major newspaper publications. Think about it. And listen to the common sense solutions offered by someone like Dr. Ben Carson. By the way, he is speaking in Kalispell March 13.
