Thank you, Carrie Pichler, for the well-written article regarding my nephew, Ryan Pablo, signing his letter of intent to become a Buccaneer for Dawson Community College this fall. Ryan is a great baseball player and I am so proud of his past and present baseball and academic accomplishments. I don’t necessarily believe that it takes a village to raise a child, but I do believe it takes two dedicated parents to do so. There was mention of Ryan’s father in the article, but no mention of his mother, my sister, Lorma Sloan. I think parents deserve a little mention in articles of this type because they, too, have worked hard for their child’s dreams to come to fruition.
