According to court documents, charges stem from a February 2013 incident where Smithson was caught stealing computers from a home along with three other individuals. District Court Judge James A. Manley dealt with the following cases Wednesday, March 5:
Lisa Oldperson, 45, Ronan, had two counts of criminal child endangerment deferred for three years, to run consecutively. The court found she was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and as such sentenced her according to her original plea agreement.
According to court documents, charges stem from an August 2013 incident where Oldperson was stopped by Flathead Tribal Police for swerving over the fog line several times and crossing the center line.
She showed signs of intoxication, and two girls, ages 7 and 8, were in the backseat without wearing seatbelts. Oldperson was taken to Tribal Jail, where a breath sample showed her blood alcohol concentration was .111
Carla Wigton, 52, Polson, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 13 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony. Additionally, sentenced DOC for five years, all suspended, to run consecutive to the 13-month commitment. If she successfully completes a residential alcohol treatment program at DOC, she must serve the rest of the 13 months on probation; she is not eligible for parole.
For criminal endangerment, a felony, she was sentenced DOC for five years, all suspended, to run consecutive to the 13 month commitment.
According to court documents, charges stem from a November 2013 incident where a Montana Highway Patrol trooper responded to a crash at the bottom of Polson Hill at the intersection of Highway 93 and Highway 35. Wigton ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle turning left onto Highway 35. Because Wigton showed signs of intoxication, she was arrested and taken to Lake County Jail, where a breath sample revealed her blood alcohol concentration was .159. Her driving record showed she had five prior DUIs.
