DIXON — We enjoyed a sunny lunchtime last Thursday at the Dixon Senior Center, lots of melting going on and no serious flooding in our area that I’m aware of. We’re all awaiting the official start of spring. I love noticing the first signs. So far, I’ve heard definite spring bird songs and someone swore they saw a meadowlark. Also, we are now on Daylight Savings Time; or should be.
The visiting pinochle group was stormed in for the past two weeks, but will continue on March 17, (remember to wear something green), at Dixon, at 1:30 p.m. Stay for the corned beef and cabbage dinner at 5 p.m.
We appreciate the cheery smiles of our new kitchen helper Debbie Newstrom. Debbie is known in Dixon for being a superwoman, going all over town helping where it’s needed and working hard at whatever she does. Come greet her and see her cute headwear.
It’s also nice to have Harvey and Marge Gould back at the dinner table. Come join us for delicious meals on Thursdays at noon and Monday evening at 5 p.m. Every age is welcome.
The menu for the rest of the month is:
• Thursday, March 13: brunch for lunch: veggie omelet, biscuits and gravy
• Monday, Mar 17: St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage
• Thursday, March 20: Tilapia (fish)
• Monday, March 24: sweet and sour chicken
• Thursday, March 27: Polish sausage
• Monday, March 31: roast beef
