News from the Boys and Girls Club The Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County was the program scheduled for the Polson Rotary Club’s final 2011 meeting Dec. 29. The program was centered around the Rotary Club Signature Gift Project for the year, providing funds for a new transportation van for the Boys and Girls Club.

Rotary Chairman Rob Turner reviewed the Rotary’s history of this type of work since 2007. This year a check for $15,000 was presented to the Boys and Girls Club, and shortly afterward the club had a nicely equipped 2007 Ford E-350 van found by the local Ford dealer, Don Aadsen Ford. The funds were earned mostly through the annual chili cook-off held this summer in Polson. Other donations were also included for the project.

Boys and Girls Club Executive Director John Schnase brought the vehicle to the KwaTaqNuk so Rotarians could take a look at the new vehicle. Five of the six Boys and Girls Club board members attended the meeting with club president Gehrand Bechard and secretary Janette Rosman expressing their thanks to the Rotarians with delivered talks.

Schnase also presented Turner with a certificate of thanks and explained how the van increased the safety factor for the club and helped continue building integrity into the Boys and Girls Club programming.
