Judge James A. Manley dealt with the following cases Wednesday, March 26:
Christopher Vidulich, 56, Kalispell, in a change of plea admitted committing an amended offense of partner or family member assault, a misdemeanor. The court accepted the plea and found Vidulich guilty. Vidulich was sentenced to Lake County Jail for a year with all suspended except 48 days, and credited for time served. Two other counts were dismissed, with prosecution deferred for three years.
According to court documents, charges stem from a Christmas Day 2013 incident where Lake County deputies responded to a report of domestic disturbance with shots fired in Ferndale. A woman said she was in the home with a male friend when her estranged husband, Vidulich, had kicked in the door. The woman picked up a handgun and pointed it at Vidulich and told him to leave. Instead, Vidulich ran at the woman and wrestled the gun away from her. During the struggle, the gun fired several times. Vidulich then kicked in the bathroom door and threatened to shoot the male friend. The friend was able to take the pistol away from Vidulich, and Vidulich left the residence. Vidulich was later arrested by a Kalispell police officer.
Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, March 27:
Thomas English, 28, Everett, Wash., admitted violating terms of probation and parole and had his two-year suspended sentence for theft, a felony, revoked. The court sentenced English to the Department of Corrections for two years. According to court documents, English admitted moving without permission, failing to report to his probation officer, smoking marijuana and consuming alcohol regularly. He admitted a drug test revealed methamphetamine, but he did not directly admit nor deny using methemphetamine.
Samuel Sharp, 20, Billings, in a change of plea pleaded guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. Sentencing is set for May 1.
According to court documents, charges stem from a Jan. 6 incident where Sharp was stopped for speeding on Highway 212. After Sharp gave consent, officers searched the vehicle and found a pipe usually used to smoke methamphetamine. They also located three bags containing methamphetamine, and Sharp admitted they were his.
Crystal Marry, 40, Anaconda, was ordered to serve 20 days in Lake County Jail for theft, a felony. Sentencing for the theft offense was deferred for three years, except for the 20 days in LCJ.
