It was a doubles week for the Ronan Chiefs and Maidens tennis teams, with the boys and girls winning every doubles match.
The girls grabbed an early win Tuesday over Troy, 5-1, fell to Mission 4-2 Thursday and tied Eureka 3-3 on Saturday.
The boys tied with Troy 3-3 before sweeping Mission 6-0 on Thursday.
Against Eureka, No. 1 singles player Amber Metzger beat Angela Bailey 6-0, 6-3, and the Maiden duos of Katelyn Matkovich and Taylor Courville beat Meagan Durum and Tori Gondeires, 6-1, 6-1, and Smith and Blixt-Leo triumphed over Autum Hesek and Madison Flaget, 6-1, 6-0.
Mission proved to be tougher, as none of Ronan’s singles girls could top their opponents, but both doubles teams came through once again. The doubles players also swept Troy, and the Ronan girls dropped only one match to the Lady Trojans, when Brianna Frank lost to Emily Anderson, 1-6, 1-6.
The Chiefs had a harder time battling the Trojans, as Ronny Cullis picked up the only singles win for the boys. Doubles teams Tyler Anderson and Daniel Aylesworth and Tallon Fortin and Joey Dresen came through with wins.
On Thursday, the boys were perfect against Mission, with Hunter Shima, Kyle Yankey, Spencer Sucha and Ronny Cullis all chalking up singles wins.
Ronan hosted Bigfork Tuesday before traveling to Valley Christian Thursday.
