Editor,
On behalf of the Beautification Committee of Envision Polson, I am writing regarding our recent CleanUp/GreenUp, which was held on Friday, May 2. This year we included all the Polson Public Schools and they participated very enthusiastically, to say the least. Polson High School came out with about 250 students. Some of them were bused to various locations throughout our town, while Polson Middle School, along with Linderman and Cherry Valley Elementary schools, took to the streets on foot with gloves and garbage bags, while their teachers led their way. We had a number of community citizens, adults and children, along with business employees, who participated this year. Also, Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops had their own clean up days. There are many other people who clean up on their own to spruce up our community during the spring months. It takes many to do this great big job each year. Our Beautification Committee wishes to thank each and every person and group for participating in the success of Polson’s 2014 Spring CleanUp.
We are now gearing up for our annual “Polson in Bloom,” a summertime contest for the most beautiful Polson residence and business. Entry form fliers will be available at local nurseries, businesses and the Polson Chamber of Commerce for the community to nominate their favorite selections. All contest information will be on the flier. Winners will be announced toward the end of summer with a sign posted in front of the winning entries.
