Editor,

My name is Eileen Hoyt-Evertz and it is both a honor and a privilege for me to support Kim Leibenguth for Lake County Sheriff. I have known Kim for 10 years and have been very impressed with her dedication to the people of this county. Kim has proven to be one of our best Sheriff’s officers, SROs, and detectives in our county. She has always gone the extra mile when working on any case that she’s had with diligence, dedication and confidence. When my children’s father was killed five years ago she helped my sons and I out immensely. She went so far as to take my own three boys under her wing, keeping an eye on them not only at school but also around town. She did this without being asked, just because it was her duty as a fellow police officer. We were told to call her for anything day or night. I sure did and I am sure that I took advantage of her generosity. She never wavered though, never once told me that she could not be there for me or one of the boys. She is a true blessing to this community and we would be worse with out her.

She upholds the law without bias and makes sure that everyone knows exactly where she stands. She is not one to hold anything back. Telling it like it is is one of her greatest assets. I have never ever known Kim to back down from anything. She is a strong and amazing woman.

She knows and understands the Constitution of the United States. I know that she would uphold it and be loyal to it. Lake County would be better off if Kim were elected as our next Sheriff. Kim is a dedicated Public Servant and a woman of honor. So the choice to me is simple: I want a sheriff who will hold her ground, serve with honor, dedication, selflessness, humility, and joy. I want Kim for sheriff.
