Judge James A. Manley dealt with the following cases Wednesday, May 7:
Jon Wrede, 41, St. Ignatius, was sentenced to Lake County Jail for six months, all suspended but 10 days and credited for 21 days served for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a misdemeanor. For felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, Wrede’s sentence was deferred for three years on the condition he serve 30 days in LCJ and nine days in an in-patient treatment or on house arrest. The two sentences will run concurrently.
According to court documents, charges stem from a March 14 incident where a tribal police officer saw a red Jeep parked in a location in the Mission Dam area commonly used by juveniles to drink and use drugs. As the officer approached, the Jeep took off at a high rate of speed, but got high-centered on a large rock. The officer ordered Wrede to shut off his vehicle, but because Wrede was attempting to flee the officer deployed his taser. Wrede smelled of alcohol and told the officer he had had a few drinks. Lake County Sheriff’s Officers came and arrested Wrede for a DUI, and a blood test showed his blood alcohol concentration was .018. A warrant was issued to search the vehicle where several items of drug paraphernalia were found. A pipe had methamphetamine residue, and another vial tested positive for Buprenorphine, a controlled substance.
Jableau Arlee, 35, Arlee, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. An omnibus hearing is set for June 18 and a jury trial for Aug. 4.
According to court documents, charges stem from an April 22 incident where Arlee was arrested for a probation violation. The arresting officer found a baggie with two cotton balls that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Michael Andrew Buck, 45, Ronan, was sentenced to five years, all suspended with the condition Buck be monitored with SCRAM, or another program determined by the probation office, for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, fourth or subsequent offense.
According to court documents, charges stem from a December 2013 incident where an officer pulled Buck over for speeding and crossing the center line. The officer found an open alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle, and Buck provided a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol concentration was .121. Buck had six prior DUI convictions.
Valdena Curley, 37, Pablo, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony.
An omnibus hearing is set for June 4 and a jury trial for July 28.
According to court documents, charges stem from an October 2012 incident where Curley was arrested on unrelated warrants. A probation search yielded a syringe with methamphetamine inside.
James Muraoka, 58, Lakeside, pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal endangerment, both felonies; obstructing a peace officer, a misdemeanor; reckless driving, a misdemeanor; and driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, a misdemeanor.
An omnibus hearing is set for June 18 and a jury trial for Aug. 18.
According to court documents, charges stem from a March 31 incident where a Montana Highway Patrol trooper responded to a report of a hit and run on Highway 93 near mile marker 93. The driver of the vehicle that had been hit said a truck had swerved into his lane, and although he had avoided a head-on collision, the truck’s passenger mirror took off the driver’s side mirror. Other drivers called dispatch to report a grey truck swerving all over the highway, and reported that it had turned off the highway at M&S Meats.
Antoine Carman, 26, Ronan, in a change of plea admitted committing theft, a felony. The court found Carman guilty and set sentencing for June 11.
According to court documents, charges stem from a March 26 incident where a Charlo woman reported several items stolen from her bedroom while she was out of town. She told the deputy she believed it was her sister’s boyfriend because they shared the home, had a key, and there was no sign of breaking in and entering. Later the woman found some of her items at a pawn shop. A deputy located the sales slips and they showed the items had been pawned by Carman March 15 and 19.
Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, May 8:
Diana Park, 45, Polson, in a change of plea admitted to issuing a bad check, a felony. The court found her guilty and sentencing was set for June 12.
According to court documents, charges stem from a July 2013 incident where Park issued three checks totaling $2,814.93, knowing the money would not be paid.
Devon Morris, 18, Polson, pleaded no contest to theft, a felony. The court accepted the plea and set sentencing for June 12.
According to court documents, charges stem from a November incident where two guns were reported stolen from a shop in a Ronan field. The victim suspected Morris and two other boys had stolen the guns. The guns were located in Morris’ truck, and Morris was picked up and interviewed. He told officers all three of the males had entered the shop, and he had taken one of the guns, and another male had taken the other one with the intent to sell them.
Casey Andrew Jackson, 27, Ronan, admitted violating terms of probation and parole and his suspended sentenced was revoked. He was sentenced to 15 years in Montana State Prison with five suspended for Burglary, a felony, and 15 years in MSP with five suspended for assault with a weapon, a felony.
According to court documents, charges back to September 2006. Since that time, his suspended sentence has been revoked multiple times due to multiple incidents in 2008 and 2010.
