Having lived in Polson for six years and read local papers daily, I can’t recall an editorial or article, either pro or con, about Lakeview. People here must take for granted what an excellent job Dana Deranleau, the sexton, and his sidekick Art Lafferty do in keeping this a beautiful memorial garden.
This past Memorial Day is a case in point. As you drove or walked up, you noticed that the grass was well-watered and cut, headstones were all neatly trimmed, and things were very orderly and equipment was nice and clean. Memorial Day flags were up, and white crosses marked the sites of our military heroes.
For two people to maintain a final resting place the size of Lakeview is a major project. I have personally observed Dana and Art working tirelessly day in and day out, including holidays, to keep it a beautiful place.
