Editor,
Since May was Lyme Disease Awareness Month, I think that we should all be aware of the people fighting Lyme disease in our community and state.
Oh, yeah, there are more than my daughter, Debra Basler — actually, there are 300,000 cases diagnosed every year, not in our community, but nationally.
Lots more cases are being under-diagnosed as M.S., rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, anxiety, “all in your head,” or say, lack of vitamin D.
Since this is the time the ticks love warm bodies, be aware.
Check yourself and your animals and keep all those already infected in your hearts, minds and prayers; and for those of you who have friends that have Lyme disease, don’t ignore or forget them. They need your support and your visits.
You wouldn’t believe how many give up the fight and commit suicide, so call them, go visit, keep in contact and help them in any way you can.
So let’s all “Fight the Bite.”
