RONAN – No one was injured when a small plane crashed south of the Ronan Airport Friday afternoon.

The plane’s owner, Rick Jennison, said he got a call shortly after noon saying that a renter had crashed the plane into a farm field about a mile south of Ronan airport. The plane sustained heavy damage to its nose and propeller.

Jennison said the plane was being rented to people who were sightseeing. He did not know what may have caused the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration was contacted prior to the plane being loaded and towed to Ronan Airport by Dan Lake. Montana Highway Patrol and Lake County Sheriff’s Office blocked traffic during the tow.
