News from American Legion Post 138, Ronan
RONAN — In celebration of Armed Forces Day, May 17, the American Legion Post 138 of Ronan held a fundraiser breakfast at the Ronan Senior Citizens Center with seven members participating and Jessie Merwin offering a helping hand. Participants included Dale Morgan, Ron Merwin, Glen Sharbono, Jack Fay, Jerry Fisher and Ed Cornelius. Gene Leafty, Chaplain, took money and sold tickets.
Adjutant Tom Leafty reported that 65 people were served.
The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes donated the fish from the Spring Mack Days fishing tournament on Flathead Lake.
Local WWII Veteran Arnie Armstrong won the memorabilia trunk, raffled by the American Legion Post 138 of Ronan and the VFW Post 5652. The proceeds go to needy veterans. We would like to thank all those who came out and supported our efforts. We are looking forward to doing more of these in the future.
