The Mission Valley Aquatic Center is finally a reality in the Mission Valley. I have just had the experience of having my 5-year-old grandson take four weeks of swimming lessons and want to thank all of the instructors who were wonderful young people of the community that truly related their swimming skills and love of young people to their students. My grandson loved his experience and is now much more comfortable with water and beginning to know the basics of swimming. He will be back again next summer. Last week as I sat watching the lessons, tears of ?happiness came to my eyes as I watched little children bobbing up and down in the water with their swim goggles on with the biggest smiles on their faces that I have ever seen. Each, I’m sure of how proud of themselves they were for the chance to learn in a safe environment how to swim. What a wonderful resource the center is to help parents, caregivers to provide positive learning experiences to the young people of our future. Thanks to all the staff for your dedicated involvement. To the community, help support this facility and programs, you won’t be disappointed.
