Ronan cancels dance, Polson site of New Year’s eve dance
RONAN/POLSON — The monthly dance at Ronan’s VFW will not be held on Dec. 27. The Little Big Band will play, along with Ken’s Country Combo, at the Elks in Polson on New Year’s eve from 7 p.m.-12:30 a.m. There will be refreshments and great music. Come celebrate with us. Pirates honor Buck Young with ‘Red Out’ at Friday’s game
POLSON — The Polson Pirate and Lady Pirate basketball teams would like to honor Buck Young at this week’s Friday night basketball game against Ronan. Buck was an avid volunteer and supporter of Pirate sports. He recently passed away. Buck’s favorite color was Ohio State Buckeye red and we are asking everyone to wear red to the game for a “Red Out.” Lady Pirates play Friday at 6 p.m. and the Pirates play at 7:30 p.m.

Fun agenda planned for Cowboy Ball
POLSON — The second annual Spur the Cancer Out of Montana Cowboy Ball is Saturday, Jan. 4, at 6 p.m. at the KwaTakNuk Resort. Tickets are $50 each. The Mark Duboise Band will provide music and there will be a live auction, a prime rib dinner, and a full bar. Tickets are $10 each for a gun raffle for a Henry Golden Boy 357. POLSON — The Northwest Accordion Association is having a jam session on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 5, from 2-5: 30 p.m. at the Polson Elks Lodge. All players, dancers and spectators are welcome.

Heart to Heart plays first dance of the year
POLSON — The first dance of the New Year will be at the Elks on Jan. 8 from 7-10 p.m. Heart to Heart will play and treats are served so keep them coming. Treats are a big hit and greatly appreciated. See you there and happy New Year to all.
Support group for blind to meet
POLSON — The Montana Association for the Blind support group meeting will take place this month on Jan. 8 at 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizens’ Center, 504 Third Ave. E in Polson. The association meets the second Wednesday of every month.

Miracle of America Museum announced monthly activity
POLSON — On Thursday, Jan 9, at 6: 30 p.m., a program entitled, “Think Snow,” will include a video of rare operating snow vehicles from the museum collection and a tour of some of the tools and toys of winter on display. Dress warmly and come earlier if you want to see some of the outside collection.

WATCHD.O.G.S. Program begins with pizza night
POLSON — Dads and Kids’ Pizza Night kicks off a new innovative father-involvement program called WATCHD.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 6-7 p.m. at Linderman Elementary, 114 Fourth Ave. E. WATCH D.O.G.S. is the father-involvement initiative of the National Center For Fathering. Inspired by one father’s desire to increase male involvement in his children’s school and with the help of the school's teachers and administration, WATCH D.O.G.S was created in 1998.
