Library’s family event includes free movie, popcorn
POLSON — A free movie will be shown at North Lake County Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m., in the meeting room. The event is intended for all ages and is open to the public. Aquatic center project director to speak
RONAN — Tana Seeley, project director of Mission Valley Aquatics, the nonprofit organization building the new aquatic center in Polson, will be the guest speaker at the Friday, Oct. 26 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club.
The Lake County Pachyderm Club meets at the Rural Polson Fire Hall located on Airport Road west of the bridge in Polson. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m. (bring a brown bag lunch). The business meeting starts promptly at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m. All are invited to attend.
Public welcome to all school meetings, events
POLSON — On Oct. 26, the district office staff meeting will take place at 9 a.m. at Polson Schools District Office conference room. The public is welcome to attend any of the scheduled meetings or events for Polson School District 23. Donation event to benefit child with cancer
POLSON — A donation event to benefit Jade Marr, who has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, (a form of childhood cancer), is planned for Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4-8 p.m. at the Elks in Polson. A hearty stew dinner (gluten free) will be served for $8 per person, $25 per family (children 3-years and younger are free). The event includes a silent auction, a kids’ silent auction (12 years and younger) and a quilt raffle. Come help make something amazing happen and enjoy the evening with your family.

Evangelist to share story
POLSON — On Sunday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m., Polson Foursquare Church will host evangelist Mike Sauro. Sauro will tell his story of growing up in southern California and being a gang leader until years later in prison, God rescued him. Ever since he has been telling people how Jesus has made a difference in his life. He has helped start three churches and is here in Polson to share his story. All are welcome to attend. Pumpkin Patch Bash planned
POLSON — The Pumpkin Patch Bash will be at the Polson High School Gymnasium from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31. This free carnival is designed for families with children sixth grade and under. There will be a free family dinner, games, candy and giveaways. Don’t miss this amazing annual event sponsored by New Life Christian Center.

Polson Shooters’ Association plans meeting, party
POLSON — The Polson Shooters’ Association will hold their annual meeting and banquet on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the VFW in Polson.
The festivities will begin with a no host bar at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner of roast pork and teriyaki chicken and all the trimmings catered by Grills Gone Wild. The meeting will follow with a review of 2012 and election of officers and board members. There will also be a discussion of plans for 2013.
You may also renew you membership for 2013 at this time.
During 2012 there were a lot of improvements at the range and we look forward to your comments. Remember the officers and board of directors, work for the membership and they want to make the range and organization the best it can be and to serve all hunters and shooters of Polson and Lake County.

Apple dumplings highlight bazaar
POLSON — The ever-popular apple dumpling is again the highlight of the menu at the annual fall bazaar and luncheon at the First United Methodist Church of Polson on Friday, Nov. 2.
The soup and sandwich lunch can be topped off with an apple dumpling and ice cream served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Art, homemade crafts and bake goods are sold from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
United Methodist Women sponsor the event and use proceeds for local and church-wide mission projects. The church is located at 301 16th Ave., E.
Artist reception planned
POLSON — Community members are warmly invited to celebrate the talent and accomplishments of local artists and artisans during a series of Meet the Artist receptions held at the Cottage on Main in Polson in November and December. The first event, Harvest Soirée, on Nov. 2, will highlight the work of Amy Knutson, who will be sharing the magic behind her wonderful gourd art; Melissa Michel from Glacier Lily Soaps; Varada Veum from Tipu’s Chai; and Joel Ahr Carlson from Thunderhead Gardens. Hot drinks, hors d’oeuvres, door prizes, and whimsical musical interludes by John Semmens will add flare to the festivities.

Entire family invited to home educators event
POLSON — Mission Valley home educators will be meeting on Friday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m., at the New Life Christian Center, for a potluck dinner and meeting. This is a whole-family event, so please bring dad, mom, teens, kids, and grandparents. Those new to home schooling, veteran home educators, and anyone interested in pursuing the idea of teaching their own children, are all invited to participate. Polson banquet promises to be evening of celebration
POLSON — The Polson Chamber awards banquet is on Friday, Nov. 2, with no-host cocktails beginning at 6 p.m., dinner and awards at 7 p.m., and music and dancing at 9 p.m. Tickets are $45. Tickets are available by calling or emailing the chamber office, or through your chamber board members and ambassadors.

POLSON — Tired of having more month than money? Is financial stress bringing you down? Come to Free To Choo$e financial literacy class and learn how to transform your life into one of financial freedom and choice. Community Action Partnership of Northwest Montana in partnership with Glacier Bank will be offering this financial literacy educational opportunity on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Polson High School at 111 14th Ave. East, Polson. Lunch will be provided.
