Community dinner to serve beef
POLSON — The Fifth Friday Community Dinner is “Where’s the beef?” The dinner will be served at Polson Community Church, 1814 First Street E, on May 30, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Gallery hosts reception for Montana exhibit
POLSON — Sandpiper Gallery will host a reception on Friday, May 30, from 5-7 p.m. This will be a Montana themed show highlighting pottery, landscape and wildlife photography and woodcut prints.
People’s Choice to sponsor yard and bake sale
ST. IGNATIUS —There will be a yard sale and bake sale sponsored by The People’s Voice, Inc. for two days on May 30-31 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. The event takes place on top of Post Creek Hill at the Methodist Church. There will be many new items, delicious baked goods, $1 grab bags for clothing. You get one bag and may fill it with clothing in one minute. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served at a nominal cost.

Good Shepherd youth plan yard sale
POLSON — Good Shepherd’s youth group will have a yard sale on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., to raise funds for the June service trip to Bethlehem.
High quality furniture and furnishings have been donated to the sale, along with a vast assortment of books and housewares. The sale will be indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) at the church, 409 Fourth Ave. E., in Polson.
Proceeds from the sale will help fund the kids’ trip to the Holy Land next month. There, they will learn and serve at the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem, and also tour sacred sites.

Learn about dogs living in human world
POLSON —Ever wondered what your best friend is trying to tell you? Join us for a free class and learn about “Canine Communication.” This class is suitable for all the family and helps keep kids safe from dog bites. Public to enjoy free gymnastics exhibition
POLSON — Head over Heals presents a gymnastics exhibition show free to the public. It will be held at the Alliance Church on Highway 93 in Polson from 9 a.m.-1:15 p.m. on May 31.

POLSON — “911, Thanks” is an event to say thanks to the local first responders for all they do to keep the community safe. Come join us for a free lunch, bouncy toys, face painting, and more. POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce will host a “free” customer service training targeted at front line staff that interact with our tourists. There will be Montana based videos, tourism scenarios, resources for guiding your visitors, and instruments to start using the moment you return to your business. POLSON — Polson Chamber’s general meeting and luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, at the Polson Elk’s Lodge from 12-1 p.m. Polson School District’s superintendent Dr. Linda Reksten will be our featured speaker. Murdoch’s hosts grand opening event
POLSON — Please mark your calendars and join us June 5 at 10 a.m. and help Murdoch’s celebrate their grand opening in Polson. Murdoch’s will have lots of give-a-ways. The Local Marine Corps League and Warrior Society will start off with a flag ceremony, the Polson Chamber will have an official ribbon cutting ceremony and there will be a drum ceremony. Come welcome Polson’s Murdoch’s store to the community.

POLSON — This Friday night a prime rib dinner will be served from 6-8 p.m. for $12, which includes sides and all the fixings. The June 6 dinner will be a fundraiser for the Elks Scholarship. Tickets are available at the Elks Lodge, make sure to get your's early.

Piano recital to entertain with classical music
POLSON — On Sunday, June 8, at 4 p.m. Josiah and Rachael Pettit with Michael Vergeront will present a piano recital at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Polson. The program will include Beethoven Pathetique Sonata, Chopin First Ballade, Moonlight Sonata, plus works of Debussy and de Falla. Josiah, 16, and Rachael, 18, are the children of Jim and Shirley Pettit of Ronan, who play at numerous events around the valley as The Little Big Band. Michael is the son of Heather and Charlie Vergeront of Polson. All are students of Trish Tavenner of Polson. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served. All invited to discuss rural Montana’s future
POLSON — The Center for Rural Affairs invites Polson and area residents to join a meeting on Wednesday, June 11, at the North Lake County Library in Polson in the meeting room from 5-7 p.m. The meeting is about agriculture, adaptation, and rural Montana’s future and will include a community discussion featuring farmers, ranchers, scientists, and the faith community. Come join us for a two-hour meeting at the Polson library. There will be no charge and everyone is welcome.
Dance to Heart to Heart again
POLSON — June 11 marks the return of Heart to Heart. Welcome back. We dance from 7-10 p.m. As always, treats are welcome. Come to the Elks Lodge to dance, and bring fathers and celebrate Father's Day. Also bring your mates, friends, and significant others as well.

Audubon speaker to discuss National Park in Chile
POLSON — “Pumas, Guanacos, and Patagonia National Park” by Jim Williams will be the next evening program of the Mission Mountain Audubon Society on Thursday, June 12, at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. Jim was sponsored by Patagonia Inc. to travel to the southern end of the world as a conservation ambassador. He has been involved with puma research, management, and conservation for more than 20 years.

Marine Lewis to speak about flags, walk across America
POLSON — Flag Day will be celebrated a couple of days early at the second Thursday evening program at the Miracle of America Museum, on June 12 at 6:30 pm. The program will cover the history of our American Flag and flag etiquette presented by Marine Sgt. Chuck Lewis. Lewis will also discuss his walk across America for wounded veterans.
