Final film in Indigenous series shown
RONAN — Final films in the Indigenous Film Series takes place on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. A trio of short films will be shown: “Apache Chronicle,” a look at the lives and artwork of five young Native Americans; “Crossing Boundaries,” the story of Sophie Morigeau; and “Search for the World’s Best Indian Taco,” a Choctaw grampa tells about searching for his true love. Admission is free at the Entertainer Cinema, 410 Main Street, SW. Children under 13-years old must be accompanied by an adult. Donations are appreciated.
Special event with Steven Paul Judd
PABLO — On Sunday, Oct. 23, a special event will take place when a “Community Art Project” with Steven Paul Judd happens at Two Eagle River School. Steven Paul Judd is a Kiowa-Choctaw artist, who fancies pop art, has a knack for comedy, maintains a devoted fan base, and does everything from graphic design to filmmaking.
As a well-known artist, Judd will guide a free Community Art Project on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 10:30 a.m.-noon.
The public is invited and all ages are welcome to participate in creating the project. There will be a welcoming drum and an introduction.
At 1 p.m. at the Entertainer Cinema in Ronan the last films in FRHRC’s third annual Free Indigenous Film Series will be shown. All films family friendly.

Suicide prevention/awareness fundraiser held
RONAN — You’re invited to Your Life Matters’ the second annual “Light the Night” 5K and 1 mile fun run/walk on Oct. 28. Registration is at 5 p.m. - race at 6:30 p.m. at the Ronan High School football field. Participants of all ages are encouraged to dress in costume and wear glow-in-the dark gear. Bring a photo of your loved one or a handwritten memory. Prices are: until Oct. 14 - $50 (family of three); $20 (individual w/ shirt); $10 (w/o shirt); after Oct. 14 - $30 (individuals). This fundraiser benefits a college scholarship for a local student. Your Life Matters Project promotes suicide awareness and prevention. Annual Harvest Dinner on tap
RONAN — The annual Harvest Dinner will be held on Saturday, Oct 29, from 4-7 p.m. at the Mission Valley Methodist Church, top of Post Creek Hill on Highway 93. Donations are accepted at admission. All proceeds go to serving people of the Mission Valley.

Quilters plan November meeting
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Terrace Lake Community Church in Ronan. It starts at 6 p.m. with refreshments provided by Donna Corum, Susan Brown, Kay Wall and Debbie Thingelstad. Don’t forget your show and tell items. Everyone is welcome and we hope to see you there.
