Have coffee with Ronan chief
RONAN — As part of the City of Ronan’s ongoing commitment to openness, responsiveness to the community and efforts to enhance citywide communication, the Ronan Police Department hosts a program called “Coffee with the Chief.”
This program provides residents with an opportunity to personally meet with their police and learn about the operations of the police department, discuss community matters of interest and get to know Police Chief Ken Weaver.
Join Chief Weaver for “Coffee with the Chief” Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Stella’s Coffee Shop from 9-10 a.m. “Coffee with the Chief” is a reoccurring monthly event at various locations in Ronan.

Learn practices to increase pasture profits
RONAN — We’d like to announce our summer pasture workshop, ‘Pasturing for Profits,’ which will be held in Ronan Aug. 20-21. Jim Gerrish will discuss practical ways to increase the sustainability of our family agricultural operations. This workshop is a continuation of our winter grazing seminar. Attendance will be capped at 100. Workshop will include tours of pastures that are using innovative grazing practices. The workshop will be held at the Ronan Fairgrounds on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 20-21. The cost is $30 and includes a catered lunch on Thursday from Stella’s Bakery in Ronan.

Hay auction proceeds for new tractor
RONAN – The Ronan Fairgrounds are in need of a new tractor. On Saturday, Aug. 29, a barbecue will be held at 11:30 a.m. and a hay auction will take place at 1 p.m. to raise funds to purchase a new tractor. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation, call Ken at 406-261-1759 or Butch at 406-214-9614. Free scale tickets are at Westland Seed or Lake Seed. Unload takes place on Friday, Aug. 28, from 8 a.m.-noon.
