Meet drug-sniffing dog
POLSON — The newest member of the Mission Mountain Drug Taskforce, a canine named Llop, will make his debut at a public meeting held at the North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and meet the new team member with especially watchful eyes and a prominent nose.

POLSON — The next Thyme for Herbs meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the meeting room of the library in Polson. The topic for the month is “Understanding the Importance of Using Heirloom Seeds.” We will also discuss: planning your herb garden, growing herbs and herb seeds for profit, continuing to become familiar with using the “Herbal 9-1-1.”

Huge winter yard sale on tap
NORTH CROW — On Jan. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. a winter yard sale, sponsored by The People’s Voice, Inc., a non-profit organization, will take place at the North Crow Creek Club House. Food and baked goods, sponsored by The People to People Youth Delegates, will be also be available.

Judge Christopher to speak at Big Arm potluck

ARLEE — A four-part video series exploring the unique status of American Indian Tribes and narrated by Dan Decker, J.D. will take place at the Hangin’ Art Gallery at 1 p.m. Parts III and IV will be shown on Saturday, Jan. 18. St. Ignatius chosen as site for DAR meeting
ST. IGNATIUS — The Kuilix chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the United Methodist Church, north of St. Ignatius on Hwy 93 (top of the hill). Refreshments will be served at noon. Our guest speaker, Judge Brenda C. Desmond from Missoula Veterans’ Court, will speak on “Keeping Faith with Veterans.”
Four local high schools have contestants for the DAR sponsored “Good Citizen Essay” contest to be awarded in February. Who will be the grand prizewinner?

CHARLO — The Ponderosa Chapter of the National Honor Society at Charlo High School is once again sponsoring a Charlo Community Blood Drive. The drive will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 1-6 p.m. in the multi-purpose gym. Our goal is 33 units, which requires us to have 45 appointments.

Kids invited to Saturday morning FLIC movie, breakfast
POLSON — What better way to start Saturday morning than in your pajamas watching a family favorite, “Despicable Me 2,” on the big screen as guests of the Flathead Lake International Cinemafest, FLIC Jr. Families are invited to begin Saturday, Jan. 25, at 8:30 a.m. at the Showboat Cinemas. A free light breakfast will be served prior to the screening. Admission to the movie, which ends at 10:30 a.m., is also free.
