Ronan cancels dance, Polson site of New Year’s eve dance
RONAN/POLSON — The monthly dance at Ronan’s VFW will not be held on Dec. 27. The Little Big Band will play, along with Ken’s Country Combo, at the Elks in Polson on New Year’s eve from 7 p.m.-12:30 a.m. There will be refreshments and great music. Come celebrate with us. Toy Trains run at free event
ST. IGNATIUS — The annual Running of the Toy Trains will be held in the Railroad Museum at Four Winds Trading Post, 36007 U.S. Highway 93, from noon-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29. There will be free admission for all.

Pirates honor Buck Young with ‘Red Out’ at Friday’s game
POLSON — The Polson Pirate and Lady Pirate basketball teams would like to honor Buck Young at this week’s Friday night basketball game against Ronan. Buck was an avid volunteer and supporter of Pirate sports. He recently passed away. Buck’s favorite color was Ohio State Buckeye red and we are asking everyone to wear red to the game for a “Red Out.” Lady Pirates play Friday at 6 p.m. and the Pirates play at 7:30 p.m.

Fun agenda planned for Cowboy Ball
POLSON — The second annual Spur the Cancer Out of Montana Cowboy Ball is Saturday, Jan. 4, at 6 p.m. at the KwaTakNuk Resort. Tickets are $50 each. The Mark Duboise Band will provide music and there will be a live auction, a prime rib dinner, and a full bar. Tickets are $10 each for a gun raffle for a Henry Golden Boy 357. Health board needs member
LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Commissioners are seeking two citizen volunteers to serve three-year terms on the Lake County Board of Health. The board has regular bimonthly meetings and occasional special meetings to address community health and environmental health issues.
The Board of Commissioners will accept letter of interest to serve on the board through Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.
