Cherry Blossom Festival invites arts, crafts vendors
YELLOW BAY — The Yellow Bay Community Club’s 10th annual Flathead Lake Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Arts and crafts vendors are invited to apply for space reservations by calling Shari at (406) 982-3437.
The festival is free and open to the public. Crafters and artisans offer a large assortment of locally produced items and entertainment is provided. There will be raffles and free door prizes.

Charlo perennial sales help maintain park
CHARLO — On Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. the Mission View Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale at the Charlo Senior Center on Highway 212 in Charlo. We are having a local perennial garden sale and in addition there will be a plant related merchandise sale. Coffee and cookies will be served. Mother’s Day dinner to benefit Bethlehem trip
POLSON — Good Shepherd’s youth group will serve a Mother’s Day crab and shrimp dinner on Sunday, May 12, from 2-6 p.m. at the Glacier Brewery at 10th and Main Streets in Polson.
This third annual event will raise funds for the 2014 ecumenical service trip to Bethlehem. Paul Rowold, pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will lead the trip which will include youth and their families. The travelers stay at the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church guest house in Bethlehem, help with work around the church’s school and college, and tour Holy sites throughout the region.
The Mother’s Day dinner will include crab, shrimp, side dishes and dessert. Tickets for the dinner are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12 and are available at the church office, 409 Fourth Ave., E. We’ll have a few scissors available, but please bring your own crab cracker if you have one.

We will have a guest facilitator, Barb Gabbitas, who will lead the discussion on “The Evolution toward Natural Living from Mainstream Thought.” The second half of the gathering will focus on dividing plants, soil temperature and pH, and using natural fertilizers.

Arlee School holds cultural activities day

Gray partridge, pheasant seasons discussed at meeting
POLSON — The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board will meet Wednesday, May 15, at 6 p.m. at the Polson City Library. At the meeting, the Board will discuss pheasant and gray partridge seasons and CSKT accomplishments over the past year under the state/tribal agreement. All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting.
The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board includes three state members, three CSKT members, and one member from the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The board was established pursuant to the State/Tribal Agreement on managing fisheries, waterfowl and bird hunting within the boundaries of the Flathead Indian Reservation.

‘Clean up-Green up’ to focus on public properties
POLSON — Polson’s third annual community-wide “Clean Up-Green Up” will be held Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Volunteers are asked to come to event headquarters at Riverside Park for sign up and area assignment. Volunteer names will be included in drawings for one of four $25 gift certificates from local businesses.
Allied Waste is providing a dumpster at Riverside Park for trash collection. Efforts will focus on cleaning up roadsides and public properties.
Volunteers are invited to gather at Glacier Brewery at 5 p.m. for a no-host celebration of a job well done.

Spring show to highlight students’ fine arts
RONAN — On May 20-21, at 7 p.m., Ronan High School will present the “Ronan Fine Arts Spring Fling.” The event will feature drama, band, choir and art students’ work. There will be many performances at the Event Center as well as a student art show in the grand commons area. Tickets are $5 and available at the door or at the Ronan Middle School office. POLSON — “Building a Regional Non-game Program: The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful” by Chris Hammond, a wildlife biologist with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s next evening program on Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. This presentation will take place in the Polson Library meeting room. Hammond’s talk will touch briefly on statewide responsibilities of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to manage non-game wildlife and then dive more deeply into the specific objectives of FWP’s Region One Non-game Program.
