Pizza Cafe holds fundraiser to benefit the Ronan City Library
RONAN — For the second year in a row Pizza Café will hold a fundraiser ever Friday night in May. The Pizza Cafe will donate a portion of their pizza sales to the Friends of the Ronan City Library. You have five Friday nights to enjoy great pizza and support the library at the same time. All monies raised will be used to benefit the Ronan City Library.
We urge you to come down to Pizza Cafe and encourage all your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and teachers to make Friday nights, Pizza Night for the Library.
This fundraiser starts Friday, May 3 and runs each Friday night in May at the Pizza Café, located at 62953 U.S. Highway 93 in Ronan.
Valley View potluck scheduled

Neighborhood gatherings continue
POLSON —Polson Heart and Soul continues its neighborhood gatherings Monday, May 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. Everyone of all ages is welcome to attend, with special emphasis for those living in the Minesinger Trail area. Good conversation and a free dinner are planned and babysitting services are available. The neighborhood gathering will take place at the conference room of the “mansion on top of the hill” above the Mission Valley Aquatic Center. The address is 145 Southlake Crest. Spring show to highlight students’ fine arts
RONAN — On May 20-21, at 7 p.m., Ronan High School will present the “Ronan Fine Arts Spring Fling.” The event will feature drama, band, choir and art students’ work. There will be many performances at the Event Center as well as a student art show in the grand commons area. Tickets are $5 and available at the door or at the Ronan Middle School office. The advanced art class will also be holding a silent auction on student designed Vann’s shoes.

Hammond to make Audubon presentation
POLSON — “Building a Regional Non-game Program: The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful” by Chris Hammond, a wildlife biologist with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s next evening program on Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. This presentation will take place in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.
Hammond’s talk will touch briefly on statewide responsibilities of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to manage non-game wildlife and then dive more deeply into the specific objectives of FWP’s Region One Non-game Program.

Polson Youth Soccer plans two sign-up dates
POLSON — Polson Youth Soccer Association will be hosting two sign-up events, May 23 and May 30; both from 5-7 p.m. Registration will take place at Kerr Dam Soccer Fields and cost $35, if registered by June 10, or $50 if registered after June 10. Players must be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2013 to register. Season will run September 15-Oct. 13. If you cannot attend one of the sign-up events, you can download the 2013 fall registration form and send along with payment to: PYSA, P.O. Box 1337, Polson, MT 59860. Registrations will only be accepted at the sign-up events or if sent to the P.O. Box. Please do not turn into the schools. No late registrations will be accepted. Grizzly presentation to be heard at community potluck
BIG ARM — On Friday, May 24, a community potluck will be held at the Big Arm Historic School. Come at 5:30 p.m. to socialize and at 6 p.m. to share in the potluck, then at 7 p.m. to hear the presentation on grizzly bears.
Biologist Amy Macleod, will talk about non-invasive genetic sampling of grizzly bears in northwest Montana. She has worked for over 10 years at the Grizzly Bear Recovery Office with the U.S. Geological Survey. ARLEE — The second annual rough stock rodeo and barrel race is Saturday, May 25, (rodeo at 5 p.m., gates open at 4 p.m.), and Sunday, May 26, (office opens for barrel race at 9 a.m.; time onlys start at 10 a.m.; and runs start at noon).

Salish Kootenai College to host meet and greet for candidates
PABLO — The Board of Directors of Salish Kootenai College announce the candidates for the President position, including applicants Carmen Taylor, Robert Depoe III, Steve Dupuis, Gyda Swaney and Sandra Boham.
All candidates are tribal members of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and will be interviewed starting Wednesday, May 29.
Following each interview, each candidate will be available for a meet-and-greet session with SKC faculty and staff in the south lobby of the Big Knife building. All those that are interested are invited to meet each applicant. A tour of the SKC campus will follow.
