Valley Views for Sept. 29, 2021

I have always kept quiet about opinions I have read in the Journal, but the article published, “Slices of Life” by Jill Pertler, Syndicated Columnist, sent off a chilling nerve up my spine. Her views on forgiveness, are just that, her views. They are certainly not God’s views.   The Lord’s Prayer, simplified; Math 6:12, Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Math 6:14 For if you forgive men their sins, your heavenly father will also forgive you. The author says, “It is not our responsibility to forgive.” God says it is. Please don’t get lead astray by someone’s beliefs other than God’s word.   ...

Healing, harmony starts from ground up

Tickets issued for parking near water level

Editor, Fair warning for all of us who have always parked our cars near the water level of Mission Dam or other lake on the reservation when the water level is low. Love from a child’s perspective

Editor, A group of adults posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds. “What does love mean?” How do these answers speak to you? “Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on after shave lotion and they go out and smell each other.” Karl - age 5 “Love is...

COVID program understaffed, help needed

Editor, This letter is written regarding the Covid Emergency located in Rental Programs regulated by the Tribal Housing Program in Pablo. I heard about the emergency program through a friend who knew I could use some help. I quickly applied with the program. After weeks had passed and no letter or phone c...

Slices of Life

I recently sold the house I’d lived in for more than 20 years. During that time my family and I had accumulated infinite memories and related “stuff.” I wanted to keep the memories, but longed to rid myself of much of the stuff. When you plan a move across the country, less is more. Poss...
