Polson sweeps rival Ronan

POLSON – Heavy wildfire smoke and a virus pandemic couldn’t derail the long-standing rivalry between two Mission Valley communities and their beloved high school football and volleyball teams. Under the lights Friday night on the gridiron, the Polson Pirates squared off with the visiting Ronan Chiefs, while on Saturday afternoon the Lady Pirates battled the Maidens on the volleyball court. The Pirates prevailed over the Chiefs 52-34, and the Lady Pirates slipped past the Maidens in four sets 20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-18.
