Margaret Fay and Carolyn Streets, representing the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 5652 of Ronan, hold a poppy drive Sept. 11 in honor of Patriot Day and the National Day of Remembrance of 9-11 and celebrating 100 Years of Helping Veterans from Sept. 17, 1914 to Sept. 17, 2014. At their Sept. 10 meeting, members were given 100 year pins and celebrated with a commemorative cake.

Boy Scouts Ethan McCauley and Brody Soderquist from Troop 1945 served as Color Guard for the Hands Across the Border ceremony held annually by the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park Assembly on Sept. 21, held in Glacier Park this year. Also participating in the ceremony from Polson were Dick and Sandy Bratton, who played the bagpipes for the opening and closing of the ceremony.
