ARLEE - March and come to an end with wonderful days of sun and warmth, rain and green grass, daffodils exploding with a promise of a delightful spring. Those who went south for the winter are beginning to see Jocko Valley again as the place to come home to. We welcome all of you to the Arlee Senior’s table to share our lives and food.
April 2025 brings a new varied menu from the Board and our Head Chef Dustin Tiensvold. It also brings back a memory from last year of the beginning of the kitchen remodeling by Jackson Construction under the direction of Marvin Rehbein. Hard to believe it was one year ago May that we closed for one month for the complete kitchen makeover. We are enjoying our new heating/ac system, the comfort of new rubber floors, sinks, coffee and storage cabinets, handicap bathroom, safety from asbestos removal, update of our lighting, washroom and plumbing updates, new appliances all around and an updated back entry with a new screen door and gutter system. We were indeed blessed for this fantastic update and remodel. Thank you.
We have stayed steady in numbers for our lunches and dinners but would love to have more community members come enjoy meals with us. One just needs to call 406-726-3213 and leave a message on how many, or to eat in or dine out on Mondays, Wednesdays or the second and fourth Saturdays. Our assistant cook, Marti Bogess, also works at the Salish Senior Center preparing meals and you are also invited to eat there on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We all serve meals at noon and at 5 p.m. for Saturday meals.
It is a well-known fact that getting out to share a meal/drink with one another helps us stay healthy in body and mind. Area VI Council on Aging wants seniors to remain safe in their own homes and provides many handouts/tricks to keep our minds and hearts busy with tasks, free from depression and with happiness in our lives. Again, we offer games, puzzles, pool, bingo, TV, and armchair visits here at the Arlee Senior Center. Please bring your competitive spirt.
The Arlee Senior Center welcomes those who wish to rent the facility for dinners, graduations, etc. The Arlee Schools and Montana Children’s Theatre will offer a play on April 26 at Arlee High School. Spring sports events b ring out the runners and the Buttercup Run. Those who wish to support cleaning the highways and byways can always contact the Department of Transportation. We do love the beauty of the earth.
April brings April Fools’ Day, World Health Day, National Gardening Day, Easter, Earth Day, and national Pickleball month. So, enjoy Arlee, Jocko Valleys and Montana this spring, come sunshine, wind and rain.
