POLSON - Thanks to those who volunteer at the Polson Senior Citizens Center and to our six paid staff members as well.
We now have five new volunteer drivers that are assisting with daily lunch deliveries to nearly 100 citizens of Polson. Our hot meals in-house average 30 people per weekday. We currently have over 25 drivers for food delivery services, with some working one, two, three, four or five days per week. An additional route has now been added due to increases in requests for meals.
We have a taxi service for seniors and handicapped citizens needing rides concerning health, finance, and groceries, etc. for $5 round trip. We only have one driver for this service. Call 24 hours in advance to reserve a time. Clients will have to load and unload items greater than 10 pounds. For rides out of town, to Missoula or Kalispell for example, 48 hours notice is required. For ides reservations to Missoula or Kalispell call 406-883-7284.
Activities:
- Bingo: Fridays - open at 5:30 p.m., play at 6 p.m.
- Exercise: sitting, standing, or dancing M-W-F 10:30–11:30 a.m. - video-assisted, low impact
- Pinochle: Thursdays and Mondays from 12:30-3 p.m. - early birds at noon - We play 3, 4 or 5 handed pinochle.
- Pool: open table 8 a.m.-3p.m.
- Toenail/callus clinic: fourth Friday of each month, sign up required $30
- Bowling: “no-tap” Tuesdays 1-3 p.m. Join any time.
- Wednesday Play Day: cards, board games, Dominoes, Yahtzee, Scrabble - invite a foursome
- VSO Veterans Service Officer: first Friday and third Tuesday of each month 9 a.m.-noon - walk-ins OK
- Spinning Wheelers: first Tuesday of each month - May 6 - 11 a.m.-1 p.m. - 208-520-1013
- Blackout Bingo: using playing cards - first and third Wednesday of each month - play at 6 p.m.
Menu (subject to change): lunch - $5 donation) served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 23: soft shell taco, Spanish rice, black bean salad, lemon bars
- Thursday, April 24: Seattle hot dogs, baked beans, pickle, pasta salad, cookies
- Friday, April 25: birthday dinner - baked ham, sweet potato bake, veggie blend, homemade rolls, pineapple fluff, cake.
- Monday, April 28: potato soup, cheese bread, creamed peaches, cookies
- Tuesday, April 29: beef Stroganoff, noodles, carrots, coleslaw, frosted cake
- Wednesday, April 30: chef salad, with all the fixings, roll, Jell-O salad, ice cream bars
