POLSON — Six people were arrested in a combined operation between local law enforcement agencies on Monday night, Dec. 18.

Dubbed “Operation Blue Christmas,” the short-term investigation focused on rescuing children from homes with drugs and drug dealers and abusers, a press release from Polson Police Department states.

Several children were removed from four Polson residences and no one was injured.

Using search warrants, police seized over $11,000 in cash, small amounts of marijuana and opiate pills, a firearm and ammunition, various other weapons including knives and brass knuckles and drug paraphernalia, the release states.

The cash is believed to be from illegal drug sales.

The six arrestees face charges related to drug sales, possession of drugs and/or drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence. Some had outstanding arrest warrants as well.

Flathead Tribal Police, the Confederated Salish Kootenai Child Protective Services Division and the Lake County E-911 Center assisted in the effort.
